I first heard about Bayou Bakery via a show called Unique Sweets on the Cooking Channel. They featured their beignets and other treats from the menu. So I thought it would be a great place to visit on our quest to find good food in the area. My choice proved to be right on the money. My mother and I were more than pleasantly surprised by the menu and the atmosphere of the bakery.
Bayou Bakery is located in Arlington, Virginia on the corner across from the courthouse. The atmosphere of the bakery was warm and friendly. The service was pleasant, helpful and efficient. The food was AWESOME. We both had an order of beignets and biscuits and gravy. Both items were tasty and had that cajun/New Orleans flavor that one would expect from a place named Bayou Bakery. Overall, we had a great experience at the bakery and really enjoyed the food. I would highly recommend it as one of the good eats in the DMV.
