Artechouse is a creative location in DC that beautifully melds art with technology to create breathtaking interactive displays for visitors from all walks of life. My mother and I had the opportunity to visit their cherry blossom installation last week.  We were instantly mesmerized by the beauty and tranquility of the displays the moment we walked into the first display area.  The walls were full of cherry blossom flowers floating around. The color of the wall panels could be controlled by just the wave of your arms and hands.  No actual touching of the walls was required. There was also tranquil music playing in the background which made you never want to leave as you watched the flowers gently move across the wall panel.

The second display was a mini glow in the dark fish pond. It too could be controlled with the wave of your hand.

The hallway leading to the next display had paper lanterns in the ceiling which turned on and off as you moved through the hallway.

Two additional interactive displays were at the end of the hall.  The first one was a wall of circular shapes which again could be moved with the flick of your hand.

The final interactive display was a room filled with three tables which displayed different backgrounds. Flower pillars lined the area tying the room with the cherry blossom theme of the installation.

All in all, we had a wonderful time at Artechouse.  We can’t wait to see what they do for their next interactive installation.
