My February 2021 bullet journal design was a thrill to create. I love this design because it is a completely different concept from my previous journal designs. For me, it is a bold use of color. Plus, it is different from my usual style.
The Inspiration
For this month, my inspiration was paint splatter. Once my mind was set on this theme, I proceeded to search the internet and Pinterest for design ideas. This took a while because I had never drawn anything paint related before. I saved everything I could find to my Pinterests boards and began devising a plan.
The Design Process
I decided to use bubble letters for the word February. I thought bubble letters fit perfectly with the theme. I added dripping paint at the top of the page to frame the picture. I also added separate paint drops around the title to fill out the design. The entire page is done in purple, pink, and fuchsia which I think compliment each other well in the design.

The calendar page was extra fun to create. I chose to use primary Crayola colors to design this spread. I drew paint splatter and drops of various sizes all around the calendar and filled them in with bright green, yellow, purple, blue, red, and orange. The overall design for the calendar page has a childlike feel that I simply adore. It fits perfectly with the theme.

The Mood and Habit Trackers
Since I created my February spread in the middle of the month, both my habit and mood trackers are small. Therefore, I was able to squeeze my to-do lists on the bottom of the habit tracker page and conserve space in my journal.

My mood tracker design came from an example I found on Pinterest that I felt fit perfectly with the theme. The original version had a girl standing in the picture, but to keep it simple, I drew my tracker minus the girl. I think it looks great. Especially, when it’s all filled out.
The habit tracker page is a cute design that I filled with paint splatter and colorful paintbrushes. I also added rectangular shaped decorative blocks for my lists underneath the tracker chart. The entire page is colored in vibrant pink, purple, and blue shades to complete the spread. This page turned out to be a lovely addition to the overall theme for the month.
The Weekly Spreads
For the final two pages of the month, I found a creative drawing that worked well as a border for the pages. I drew a large paintbrush at the top of each page and added the dates. I colored one brush a dark purple and the other a bright fuchsia using marker and color pencil. These pages perfectly rounded out the theme for the month and served as a nice design for my weekly thoughts and feelings.
